John & Steve - Scooter Heaven
We're always willing to help our customers personalise their parties and we recently helped John & Steve put together a scooter enthusiasts dream party - 60s mod and ska music before and after the ceremony, big-screen video of classic films of the era such as Quadrophenia and for a bit of fun, Austin Powers - plus retro lighting to provide the right ambience.
The day kicked off when John, Steve and half a dozen friends came tearing down the long drive of a popular island manor house on their scooters to the strains of My Generation and Louie Louie. Photo time followed, with plenty of other Mod classics belting out finally dropping to a few more sedate numbers as the guests filed into the hall for the civil ceremony.
Immediately after the ceremony the music was back on - this time slower 60s soul and reggae music with sound relayed outside onto the lawn and indoors for those who chose to sit and chat or partake of a glass or two, until dinner time.
Dinner was served 'canteen style' and in keeping with the theme of the day it was bangers & mash, macaroni cheese, fish & chips plus a huge sponge pudding & custard!
Throughout dinner it was time for Northern Soul and then as the evening wore on the music gradually moved up-tempo with one-hour ska, motown and finally mod sets finishing dead on the strike of twelve with Down In The Tube Station At Midnight!
